Q-36 design, but with full .160" thick titanium slabs.
The back frames will be plain or textured titanium, the front side is an interframe with a pocket for an inlay of handle material. Or, front and back frames will be textured titanium.
Black G10 Backspacers, with beefy 4-40 screws.
Anti-rotation, precision ground "D" head pivot
And, my precision roller bearing system with a new twist.
Some will have inlays, some not.
The base model will have the textured Ti frames, and stonewashed blades. No inlays.
The inlays will probably go on the fancier knives. I have some small stag scales that I am going to put in some knives-Nice to finally be able to use these, as I have had them for many years, and they are real pretty. I also have some nice checkered C/F that is flat and grippy.
No M4 in these folders. As much as I like the steel, a non-stainless blade is just asking for trouble in a folder, particularly a flipper. S110V is actually an upgrade from S90V-It is the best, and most expensive, stainless blade steel that Crucibles makes. A little thicker than the S30V, too.
With the .140 thick S30V blade, the OVERKILL handle will be 1/2" thick. If someone wants to measure the JD Q36, I think it should measure about 5/8" thick. So, the OVERKILL is quite a bit thinner.
I have been playing with stonewashing the frames of the all-TI knives.
The base model OVERKILL has stonewash CNC textured frames and a semi-gloss blade finish. Old school clip.
The OVERKILL+1 has a C/F insert on the front side. Frames are stonewashed. Some of these have plain backs, some have CNC textured backs. Blades are semi-gloss. Clips are old school.
The OVERKILL+2 model has a ceramic bead-blasted, smooth frame, a high gloss blade, smooth C/F inlay and the new standoff clip.
All the models above have CPMS30V blades and my Roller Thrust Bearing System (RTBS).
